It is finals time in the WDTA and we have plenty of junior teams ready to go!

Goodluck to all 10 MCC Glen Iris Valley junior competition teams for their matches this coming weekend. Below is an overview of the teams in finals, who is in the teams and info for the match this weekend.

Saturday Teams

D Grade 2:

Joshua Jansen, Michael Ball, Sebastian Johanessen and Brad Wilcock Stuart. Not only did they finish on top, but they will also be going for 3 peat after winning the last 2 premierships. The boys have had an incredible run over the past 3 seasons and we wish them the best of luck in the semi-finals this weekend.

SEMI FINAL: Home match Vs Springvale South (Sat Aug 27th)

Sunday Teams

B Special 1:

Daisy Hingston, Michael Petitt and William Maligin. Simply a great season with the team finishing on top of the ladder quite comfortably. After falling one short last season, the team is extremely confident they can get the job done over the next couple of weekends.

SEMI FINAL: Home match Vs Nottinghill Pinewood Blue (Sunday Aug 28th)

Josh Wallace

Josh Wallace is ready for their final campaign (unlike Carlton Josh!!!)

B Grade 2:

Felipe Herrera, Joel Burgess Heath and Joshua Wallace. First year for the boys in the rubbers format and they have done magnificently, finishing 1st on the ladder to ensure a home Grand Final. All three boys have combined incredibly well over the last 14 weeks and are looking to go back to back after taking the C Special 1 triples premiership last season.

Automatically Through to the GRAND FINAL

B Grade 3 (Blue):

Harrison Cutts, Riley Thomas and Sahil Iyer. This is the first season for the boys as a team and they have delivered a masterclass, narrowly missing top spot and just missing out on an automatic grand final appearance. A home semi-final awaits them this Sunday the boys.

SEMI FINAL: Home match Vs Nottinghill Pinewood (Sunday Aug 28th)

C Special 1 (White):

Lachie Murray, Marcus Russell, Oliver Chen and Winston Zhang. After narrowly losing in the grand final last year, the boys have stepped up to the plate again and finished 1st after the home and away season. Their biggest competition will be the other MCC Glen Iris Valley Team which have finished in 2nd place. An all MCC Glen Iris Valley Grand Final is a high possibility.

SEMI FINAL: Home match Vs Scoresby (Sunday Aug 28th)

C Special 1 (Red):

Matthew Lucarelli, Nik Tsourvakas and Ryosuke Shibuya. The 2nd MCC Glen Iris Valley team in this section have stormed home in the later part of the season to finish 2nd on the ladder. Once again their toughest competition will be the other club team, so it will be interesting to see who goes all the way in this one. Best of luck to both of the teams.

SEMI FINAL: Home match Vs Whites Lane (Sunday Aug 28th)

D Grade 1:

Marnav Deo, Liam Gregory and Andy Ng. The boys have only had 3 players in their team this season but this has been a positive, as their team chemistry has gone from strength to strength. They have finished on top of the ladder by an amazing 20 points and are extremely confident after remaining undefeated for the entire season to date.

SEMI FINAL: Home match Vs Templeton (Sunday Aug 28th) ***THIS MATCH TO BE PLAYED Mount Waverley Tennis Club, Fleet St Mount Waverley***

D Grade 2 (Black):

Tom Wright, Sarah Favaro, Sarah Witney and Bella Wilkes. Another one of our teams who has finished on top after not losing a match during the home and away season. The team has jelled incredibly well after Tom and Bella joined the two Sarah’s this season.

SEMI FINAL: Home match Vs Glen Iris Valley Red (Sunday Aug 28th)

D Grade 2 (Red):

George Pletsias, Andreanna Gameras, Charlotte Hall and Elena Pamamull. After a narrow defeat in the grand final last season, the team has regrouped and finished 4th after a strong finish to the season. Best of luck to both teams.

SEMI FINAL: Away match Vs Glen Iris Valley Black (Sunday Aug 28th)

D Grade 5:

Adam Wallace, Thomas Andrewartha and George Nanos. Another 3 member team which has stormed home late in the season to finish 2nd on the ladder. Their biggest test will be the Legend Park team who has finished 1st on the ladder but the boys must first over come some stiff opposition in Knox City.

SEMI FINAL: Home match Vs Knox City (Sunday Aug 28th) ***THIS MATCH TO BE PLAYED Mount Waverley Tennis Club, Fleet St Mount Waverley***

Good luck to all teams!
