downloadThe WDTA Winter Junior Competition Season has flown by and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the players and parents who took part. It was great to see all 20 teams competing hard to try and make it to the semi-finals which start this weekend.

Out of the 20 teams, 9 teams will take to the courts this weekend in a bid to make it through to the Grand Final on Sunday, Sep 4th. Below is a summary of some team and individual performances throughout the season:

We had 4 of our teams finish on top of the ladder:

  • Saturday A Res 1 Rubbers- Will Brooks Gay and Ayush Salunkhe
  • Sunday A3 (Gold) Rubbers – Hridhaan Jamwal, Anidya Sirohi and Luca Basilli
  • Sunday B1 Rubbers – Prnav Ahuja, Diahna Srikanth and Rosalie Wang
  • D Special 3 Triples – Darcy Librea, Saranya Singh, Imani Klair and Carah Klair

All of these teams above will host semi-final matches this coming Saturday and Sunday.

Along with those teams, we had our Sunday C6 Triples (Arjun Srinivasan, Tom Parks, Lucas Turski, Jason Kai, Seina McDonald) and our Sunday D Spec 1 Triples (Oscar Finch, Cody Wang, Ethan Fu and Yanhao Xiang) finish 2nd on the ladder which means they will also host a semi-final this Sunday.

Our Sunday B3 Rubbers (Danny Cai, Yanxiang Hiang, Lachlan Armstrong), our Sunday D2 Triples (Aarushi Borlepwar, Ayoub Riahi, Ines Riahi, Nina Niu, Sumithra Coghlan) and our Sunday B6 Rubbers (Benji Trcek, Scarlett Rickard and Kayla Chhika) all finished 3rd and 4th and will play away semi-finals.

We have had several notable individual performances for the season in both rubbers and singles format. In our rubbers format, Will Brooks Gay, Ayush Salunkhe and Tyler Zeuschner lead the way with fantastic singles and doubles records. In our triples format, Carah Klair, Yanhao Huang.
