The Semi-Finals of the junior and senior competitions were played last weekend with all the teams playing in the most difficult conditions seen for quite a while. Extreme winds and sideways rain didn’t seem to phase the majority of our teams, with 10 of our teams booking a spot in the Grand Final. One match didn’t finish due to the conditions and we will be played again this Sunday.

WDTA Seniors
B Special 1 Open S/D - Ross Johnson, Geoff Shallue, and Andrew James had a great come from behind win and knock off the 1st placed Monash Uni. After Geoff and Andrew narrowly lost their doubles, Andrew and Ross had great wins in both their singles match to take the match 2 rubbers to 1.

BAYSIDE Seniors:
Mens Section 2: After earning the right to have a week off, Sebastian, Oliver, Cooper, Blake and Stephen will now take on Maccabi in the Grand Final.
Mens Section 9 (Roy St): A solid 4 sets 0 win over Carmelite on the weekend has seen the boys from Roy St progress through to the Semi Final where they will face Maccabi 1 in the Grand Final. They have already played this team in the final series, going down in a tight match. Hopefully, they can go one better this weekend.
Junior WDTA:
A Reserve 2: Both of our A Reserve 2 teams won their semi finals and will now face off in the Grand Final. Harrison, Sahil and Adam will take on Felipe, Joel and Joshua in what promises to be a ripper of a match.
Grand Final: Home match
B Special 2: MCC Glen Iris Valley 2-5-42 Defeated Springvale Nth 0-1-28. A great effort by the team knocking of the 1st team on the ladder too book a spot in the Grand Final.
Grand Final: Away match Vs St. Paul Apostle
C Grade 1: MCC Glen Iris Valley 3-30 Defeated Mayfield Park 3-29. A 1 game margin is what separated the 2 teams on the weekend, with our boys just scraping over the line.
Grand Final: Away match Vs Scoresby
C Grade 4: Uncompleted match due to the weather. Match will be resume this Sunday with the Grand Final to follow straight after.
D Special 2 (Red): MCC Glen Iris Valley 5 -36 Defeated Mayfield Park 1-18. A solid performance from the boys on the weekend, only losing one set to book a Grand Final Berth.
Grand Final: Home match Vs Chadstone
D Special 5: MCC Glen Iris Valley 5-35 Defeated Burwood 1-19. In tough conditions the team got the job done, only losing one set for the day.
Grand Final: Home match Vs Springvale North
D Special 6 (Gold): Sophia, Angeliki, Lucas and Shin Yi finished on top of the ladder and automatically booked a spot in the Grand Final.
Grand Final: Home match Vs Legend Park
D Grade 4: MCC Glen Iris Valley 4-25 Defeated Eildon Park 2-21. After finishing 2nd on the ladder, the team had a hard fought win against the 3rd placed Eildon Park. Not much separated them in the Home and away season and it was the same in the Semi Final.
Grand Final: Away match Vs Whies Lane Mulgrave
D Grade 5: MCC Glen Iris Valley 5-35 Defeated Essex Heights 1- 14. A strong display from the boys who are playing in their first season, only dropping one set.
Grand Final: Home match Vs Eley Park
D Grade 6: MCC Glen Iris Valley 3-26 Defeated Glen Waverley (Black) 3-21. After remaining undefeated for the whole season, the team put in a solid performance against the 4th place team to book their spot in the Grand Final.
