Another pennant season has flown by and we would like to thank all 8 Glen Iris Valley teams who took part in another wonderful season. We look forward to the next years season when players from both clubs will come together to play for the MCC Glen Iris Valley Tennis Club. But before then, we have round 1 of finals for 3 teams.
Women’s Grade 3 Section finished 4th: Congratulations to Penenlope Panangopoulos, Natalie Edwards, Hanna Steemson, Louise Anderson (c), Monica Nguyen and Jayme Waites who will take on the 1st team in there section, Essendon TC in an elimination final. All girls have had an extremely solid season and all are extremely confident of pulling off an upset this Saturday morning.
Men’s Grade 3 Sect 2 finished 4th: Congratulations to Andrew Carter (c), Ben Rowler, Andrew Semmens, David Rowler, Stephen Sharp and Stephen Swann who will take on the 1st team in there section, Manchester Heights TC in an elimination final. The guys played this team in the last round of the home and away season last weekend and had an easy victory (no pressure guys). Word is they think they can repeat it this Saturday arvo.
Men’s Grade 6 Sect 3 finished 4th: Congratulations to Andrew Rabinovich, Sean Munaweera, Trent Mills (c), Lee Blashki, Matt Tsimos and Andrew Sucevic who will also take on the first placed team in their section, Fitzroy TC in the elimination final. Fitzroy have been extremely tough to beat all season but the team has been out on the court practicing and will give it a big shot this weekend.
