Three members of the MCC Glen Iris Valley Tennis Club will compete in the 2017 Australian Open.

Jaimee Fourlis will play on the first day, Monday the 16th, second match on court 11 against Anna Tatishvili of the USA. It will be the 17-year-olds first Australian Open Main Draw after winning the Wild Card play off in December.

Blake Mott will also make his debut at the Australian Open after winning three matches in qualification. Blake was our number one player in our men’s 2016 Premier League team and is coached by another club member Peter Luczak. Blake is up against the 18th seed Richard Gasquet on Tuesday.

Matt Reid will team with fellow Aussie John-Patrick Smith in the doubles starting Wednesday. They will play Sam Groth and Chris Guccione in an all Aussie first round match.

Updates will be posted regularly on the club’s Facebook page. If any member is at the Australian Open, have a look out for Jaimee, Blake, and Matt!
